My Story
My love for the written word started with pieces of paper cut up into tiny squares, a trusty pencil and "The Little Mermaid". I was five at the time and my parents had just introduced me to that movie. I was so captivated by Ariel that I began crafting my own mermaid tales—pun intended—on those little pieces of paper. I never stopped and so that hobby blossomed into a serious passion that I have been nurturing my whole life.
After I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Journalism, I landed opportunities to write for some of the biggest magazines in the Philippines, including StarStudio and Celebrity Mom. I also diversified my experience when I worked in Manila Water Company as part of its corporate communications team. There, I was granted the creative freedom I needed in order to do cool things, including revitalizing Manila Water's official publication to help maintain the connection between the company and its stakeholders.
While both career paths had different job descriptions, my mission remained the same: to write as many stories as I could in order to get better at my craft. Of course, seeing my byline was always a thrill that never got old. But meeting people from all walks of life and sharing their empowering stories with our thousands of readers was an honor I really hold dear.
Meanwhile, my time in the Army took me to a completely different path. For the past three years, I have been handling military pay and providing support to the soldiers in our unit in order to accomplish every mission entrusted to us. While I take pride in what I do in service of this country, my resolve to continue my writing journey has remained firm. That's why as I transition back to my civilian life I am also getting ready to pick up where I left off with my beloved profession. After all, the world is always brimming with stories that are waiting to be told.
